On a more personal note, Sandy is a wife of 30 years to a U.S. Air Force Veteran and mom to three amazing young men, ages 27, 26, and 25.

Through her husband’s 22 year military service, she’s been fortunate to travel the world and live in some amazing countries like Japan, Iceland and England.

When she became a military wife 31 years ago, she started making gifts for family and friends as a way to save money. One of the first things she painted were Japanese warrior shirts using fabric paint and eventually started selling them at the base gift shop. When they moved to Iceland, she painted ornaments, plates and mugs and sold them through the base USO and giftshops. When next stationed in England, she painted ornaments with English cottages, telephone boxes, local castles and village signs, selling them at the annual bazaars. She was also known for creating unique ceramic pieces to accompany customers china sets.
